On January 23, 2024, the Columbia Law School Student Senate denied recognition to the student group Law FIREAgainst Antisemitism because of concerns about the group’s use of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s definition of anti-Semitism. ÃÛÖ­ÏãÌÒ wrote the student senate on Feb. 2, explaining that under Columbia’s free speech promises, the senate must make student-group recognition decisions in a viewpoint-neutral manner. On February 12, an LSAA student member informed FIREthe student senate had agreed to recognize the group.
