George Washington University: Violation of Due Process Rights in Sexual Misconduct Policy
Cases
George Washington University
Case Overview
FIRE Victory closed
In 2001, George Washington University proposed a new sexual misconduct policy that lacked even basic provisions of procedural fairness. FIREwrote to GW’s faculty senate on April 1, urging its members to condemn the proposed sexual harassment code. In a stunning and wholly appropriate blow to the university administration, the Faculty Senate voted 15-0 to condemn the code, which was sent back to be redrafted.
