In January 2019, FIRElaunched a campaign calling on students, faculty, and alumni to ask their universities to sign ��֭����’s “Commitment to Campus Free Expression at Home and Abroad.” The statement encourages universities to prioritize free expression and academic freedom in their current and future international endeavors. Signatory universities “will guarantee that any existing or future agreements, grants, or contracts signed by” the university “do not and will not threaten the academic freedom or expressive rights of any members of its academic community.”
