Case Overview
FIRE Victory closed
In October 2023, FIRElearned of a Cornell Student Assembly policy requiring student organizations to disclose the names of all members to receive funding. FIREwrote the Student Assembly on October 2 urging it to abandon this mandatory disclosure policy because it violates groups’ associational freedoms by impacting members' ability to speak freely. As of March 2024, the Student Assembly had eliminated the requirement.
