David Rubin

David joined FIREafter several years at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, where he worked on complex commercial, administrative, and regulatory litigation. He also maintained an active pro bono portfolio. David is admitted to practice law in Washington, D.C., and California.
In 2019, David graduated with his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he was a member and coach of the championship-winning International Tax Moot Court Team and a head writer of Libel, the law school’s annual comedy/variety show.
Originally from Sacramento, California, David earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in rhetoric from the University of California, Berkeley. After graduation, he worked in the stand-up comedy business in Los Angeles.
When he is not working, David is most likely trying and failing to train his dog. David enjoys playing sports and collecting rare books.
