Charlotte Arneson

Charlotte joins FIREas Program Counsel after graduating from LMU Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, CA. While in law school, Charlotte passionately worked to defend the rights of underdogs and the politically unpopular as a law clerk for a criminal defense firm, clinical student for the Loyola Project for the Innocent, and research assistant for the Criminal Justice Reform Lab. Charlotte’s commitment to defending First Amendment principles and students’ rights was sparked by spending five years in China, where she worked at an education consulting company and experienced life in a country without free speech protections.
Originally from the Twin Cities, Charlotte earned her BA from Carleton College in Minnesota and will happily explain why Minneapolis is the best mid-sized city in the United States. Now a Virginia resident, Charlotte spends her free time exploring the Smithsonian museums, trying out new recipes, searching for the best dessert spots, and getting herded around by her two Australian Shepherds.
