Art Censorship in a Post-Roe America
Since Roe v. Wade was overturned by the Supreme Court in 2022, states have made choices on whether and how they want to restrict abortions. But what happens when they restrict the ability to talk about abortion, or even make art about it? That’s what Idaho has done, with their No Public Funds for Abortion Act, and artists Michelle Hartney, Katrina Majkut, and Lydia Nobles fell into the state’s crosshairs when their art was removed from an exhibition at Lewis-Clark State College.
