Every aspect of the educational process shall promote the free expression of ideas. FIREhave the right to freedom of speech and assembly. They may publicly assemble to demonstrate support for or opposition to causes or candidates. They may take other lawful action respecting any matter, which directly or indirectly concerns or affects them, subject only to reasonable time, place, and manner considerations outlined in by the University in President's Directive 5 and in accordance with event policies. University control of campus facilities shall not be used to prevent the exchange of ideas.
