Chuck Taylor, an Atlanta native, is CEO of the HT Group, which owns commercial property across the Southeast, with a focus on neighborhood retail centers. He is also a retired lawyer and registered neutral. Chuck holds an AB from Brown University, where he studied economics, musicology and theatre, and a JD from Emory Law School, where he long has been an adjunct professor teaching Real Estate Finance and Transactions to JD and MBA candidates. Chuck practiced law for a number of years and has been active in real estate development, ownership and management since 1989. Chuck is on the Commercial and Large Construction Case Arbitration and Mediation Panels at the American Arbitration Association, where he specializes in the mediation and arbitration of business disputes. 

Chuck was the founding Chair of the Fulton County Public Art program and is a life Member of the Board of directors of WABE (NPR Radio and PBS Television) and Chair of The WABE Foundation. He is also a former Trustee of the NPR Foundation in Washington DC and a member of the Foundation’s President’s Council. Chuck is a Board Member and Board Secretary of Americans United for the Separation of Church and State Board. Chuck is a former National Commissioner and current life member of the Regional Board of the Anti-Defamation League. He is a member of the Board of Planned Parenthood Southeast Advocates, and is on the Regional Advisory Boards of J Street and the New Israel Fund. He is also a member of the International Council of the New Israel Fund and the Georgia Tech Arts Advisory Board and Executive Committee. Chuck is the former Chair of the Technical Advisory Committee of the City of Atlanta Office of Planning and Buildings and is the current Vice Chair of the West End Community Improvement District (CID). He also served two terms as a regular and executive Committee member of the Emory University Board of Visitors. 

In addition to serving in leadership roles on a number of other non-profit boards, Chuck was an at-large member of the Atlanta Jewish Federation Community Relations Committee (CRC) until its disbanding by the Atlanta Jewish Federation, served as vice president of the Board of the William Breman Jewish Heritage Museum and was a member of the Georgia Advisory Committee of the United States Commission on Civil Rights. Chuck has been very active in many political campaigns and other non-profit organizations, with particular expertise in non-profit corporate governance. He is also an active member and officer of the Chevaliers du Tastevin and the Chaine des Rotisseurs. Chuck is an avid pilot, sailor, skier and wino. He and his wife, Lisa, live in Ansley Park with their dog, Hero, and ever growing art and wine collections. Their children, Alix and Miles, both graduated from Brown University and live in California.
